A long history centuries, that of the Rocca albornoz of Spoleto, a fortress built in the fourteenth century by the papal will of Cardinal Egidio Albornoz and designed by Matthew Giovannello da Gubbio, called the Gattapone.
In 1800 the Fortress became the seat of a prison, until 1982 when the last prisoners were transferred and began long restoration work that allowed to recover the structure and make it today accessible to the public.
The guided tour scheduled for Sunday, June 11, at 11 am, will be an opportunity to discover the fascinating history of this building.
buying the Spoleto Card participation in guided tours is free.
For those who do not have the Spoleto Card there is a € 4.00 per person, upon purchase of the entrance ticket to the museum.
