TEATRINO

Installation of Adelaide Cioni
curated by Saverio Verini
Casa Romana

The program of Saturday, June 24 also provides openings in two other locations. At 13.30 at the Museum of Fabric and Costume, recently reopened after over four years of closure, Adelaide Cioni (Bologna, 1976) presents the installation Teatrino, formed by three costumes made by the artist on the occasion of the prestigious personal exhibition that the exhibition space Mimosa House, in London, has recently dedicated to her.

The costumes, part of a research on abstract decorative motifs that the artist has been conducting for years, will be exhibited in wooden display cases made with the collaboration of the artisan Spoleto Leonardo Sacaramucci: the idea is to follow the layout of the Museum of Fabric and Costume, which presents clothes stored in windows, mixing with the collection and at the same time being fully recognizable. The display cases, in fact, will not present the traditional glass, but will be lined with a series of fabrics painted by the artist, thus creating an ideal habitat for costumes.

Adelaide Cioni is linked to the Umbrian territory by a special relationship: after having been in residence at Mahler & lewitt Studios and having resided for some years in Bevagna, the artist chose Spoleto as a place to live and work. Teatrino is therefore a tribute by Cioni to his new city and the Museum of Fabric and Costume.
