The Rocca Albornoz, a fourteenth-century papal fortress, dominates the Spoleto valley from the top of the Sant'Elia Hill. Bulwark of the papal kingdom, was built by the will of Cardinal Egidio Albornoz, entrusting the work to the Eugubino architect Matteo di Giovannello da Gubbio, known as the Gattapone.
The guided tour will lead us to discover the magnificent views that can be admired from the large windows of the fortress and we will retrace together the long history of the building, which for over a century has also served as a city prison.

For those who do not have the Spoleto Card there is a € 5.00 fee to participate in the guided tours, upon purchase of the entrance ticket to the museum.
